Sunroof Rattle Fixed with Aerospace Protectant 303

My 05 TL has been relatively rattle-free.

Over the last month, I noticed a rattle or ticking noise coming from the sunroof especially when the car body flexed pulling out of the driveway on a cold morning.

On a hunch, I applied Aerospace Protectant 303 to the black rubber (?) gasket surrounding the sunroof glass. This is the same stuff I use on the dash to minimize fading and discoloration. I like it because it doesn't look greasy or shiny.

It worked. No more rattle/ticking noise! I'll probably need to reapply the stuff every few months, but that's OK. It's easy to do.

I use silicon base lubricant, you will have this issue coming back in few month. My 2003 Accord had the same issue, my 2005 TL also. When the sunroof is closed, push with your hand from inside the car and you'll be able to hear the squeak. Also you can put some on the rubber around the sunroof but under the metal body, it's where the rubber you lubed meet another ruber when it is closed. Take a light and you could see it, it's very thin but it's also a culprit for this kind of squeak
