Hey everyone, just signed up here. I have been searching the internet for answers but have been getting a multitude of different answers.

I have a 2004 TL the drivers side headlight is not working now. Is there a cheaper alternative for bulbs than the 100-200 dollar range I have been seeing?

What is the easiest way to change the bulbs out.

Also, I think the High/Lows are on the same bulb. If I get an aftermarket bulb am I going to lose my high beams?

I am kinda of tight on money and I definitely cannot afford to go to the dealer on this fix. 329 dollars to change a light bulb seems a little excessive IMO.

Any and all advice or opinions are welcome. Thank you.

 

may not be the bulb, could be the ignitor or ballast. you could swap them back and forth to isolate the cause. bulbs are a perfect example of you get what you pay for. cheap bulbs will not last and will perform poorly (color shift, flicker, etc.)

I would personally pay the price for quality parts, but I would not just purchase bulbs thinking that was gonna be the issue. I would troubleshoot the lights first to make sure its the bulbs.

 

Is there anyway I can modify the lights with say a wiring harness from a honda to run just normal headlight bulbs. I know it seems like a downgrade but I just don't have the cash to drop into ballasts and bulbs atm.

What are some other alternatives? can I buy another aftermarket HID kit.
