... How much did the parts, paint and labor cost you? I've got an '04 TL - not a Type S.
I'm in Los Angeles. Hit a crate on the freeway tonight doing 80 and ripped up the bumper cover pretty bad. It hit on the drivers' side - is there anything behind there that I need to worry about?

I have scene some used ones on ebay before, and also some aftermarket OE style ones that come primed. Prices seemed to be between $150 and $250 w/out shipping. I would think $100 for paint might be a ball park figure. Check the black market here too. I see them there every now and then. I would go used OEM or maybe take a stab at fixing yours depending on the damage.

go with an OEM replacement. aftermarket bumpers potentially have fitment issues.
as far as costs are concerned, it all depends on who does the work and how good you want it to turn out. costs will be around $5-700 for a new bumper cover with paint (done the correct way). a repair to a bumper with respray cost around $400-450.
if you go cheap on the paint, it won't look right aftewards (orange peel, color is off etc), nor will it last especially if it isn't prepped correctly (think paint failure).
don't you have insurance?

Yep, 6-$700 for the BC, R&R, and materials. I have had bumper covers done in the past and they are in this range. People can never seem to wrap their heads around how expensive paint and body materials are these days. It's crazy.

Thanks, all. $700 or so is actually much less than I thought - I thought this would be a few thousand bucks. (I've fortunately never needed to replace a bumper cover.)
As for insurance - my deductible is $500. I probably wouldn't get them involved if the total was only $700. I'll definitely need to replace the cover - it's way too mangled for fixing.
