Hard to get a smooth shift with AC on (6 speed)

like the title says, It is really hard to get a smooth shift while the AC is on, if its on high or low. Also its a 6 speed, is there anything I can do so when the AC is on it will shift like it does when the AC is off? thanks for the help in advance

Honestly, I dont have this problem.
and I dont remember if I had this problem when I was stock.

I removed the check-valve in the clutch slave cylinder.
I have PCD's And Jpipe, which attribute to a more powerful powerband with torque gains.

My limited knowledge says the added load of A/C on the engine drops the rpm faster when shifting. Shift faster? Let the clutch slip a little longer?

^ I've noticed the same thing.

Aman hit it right on the head, I noticed my revs drop a little faster due to the increased engine load.

Just make sure to make your clutch > gas transitions a little quicker and you'll be golden. I'm not suggesting you speed shift / ruin your synchros .. just a little faster.

I did try shifting faster it did help a bit, but it's almost impossible to get a smooth shift. I have had a stick my whole life, so it's not like I'm a noob. Lately I have been driving with my windows and forget about the AC altogether but it would be nice to use it again and still enjoy the car.

I been trying but seems like it's still to hard to get a smooth shift. I was just hoping there was something I could do to fix it altogether.

lol...jerkiness.
I would recommend the checkvalve removal. This will likely eliminate this.

ditto above, shift faster and/or give it a teeny bit of gas to stop the rpms from dropping so fast (dont get confused with revving the engine as to increase RPM. Simply slowing the drop, that's all. basically lightly riding the gas should be enough). Obv not too much to slip the clutch more than needed. some days are worse than others (my timing being off).

I get the same thing, i dont like driving my TL with the AC in the city for that very reason, the RPM drop off too fast, but like someone had mentioned above just feather the gas between shifts and youll be golden. The check valve removal wont help your cause considering that your clutch will engage a bit faster, although it may give you a bit better feel for it, and thus allow you to compensate better. My solution is just using the AC on the highway, no shifting, no problem

I have the same issue. Does your rpm drop as your coming to a stop and than bounce back up? Almost like the car wants to stall.

The 6spd TL's are a pain in the ass to get smooth no matter what. Especially 1st gear. Im still trying to finesse my 07 Type S and I have had it for a while. As far as smoothness goes, my Z06 is sooooooooo much easier to drive than this damn thing lol. My a/c is almost always on I will have to try cruising around with it off to see if I notice a difference. I have heard that there are some differences though between the Type S manual/clutch and the standard 04-06 TL's so might not be a 100% perfect comparison.

Ya its a known thing, I had the AC on this morning and my shifts were jerky a bit (I never jerk going in to 5th but with the AC on it does sometimes).

Hence why I tend to drive with the AC off unless its unbearable outside.

^When did he get lower then 2600? I just checked his thread yesterday!

And funny, not a month ago, I was spitting to everyone how the car drives differently with the AC on, and everyone and their brother said "oh no way something must be wrong" "blah blah dynoed and it's the same amount of power with the ac on blah blah".

So blah to all you doubters! Lol
