Grinding / Rattling Noise from Outside Left

I was leaving a restaurant for lunch today and heard a loud sound that seemed like it was coming from the left side of the car. It almost sounded like driving on a gravel road and having the rocks bounce off your wheelwell and underbody. Except there were no rocks.

Anyway, I drove a couple of miles and it turned to a more grinding or loud creaky sort of sound when I turned right and the car's weight shifted to the left. But it doesn't happen everytime I turn. It may also be happening more so on bumpy roads. I'm not sure. But it's a disconcerting, loud sound that makes me think the wheel's going to fly off the next time I take a turn. I looked under the car and nothing appears to be hanging off or obviously out of place. Any thoughts what this might be?

Oh, the car is a '07 TL-S 6MT with 30k miles.

hey Vector7777, i hv the similar problem, too. i hear the noise when i shut my door...not sure about while driving. seems like the noise came out from front driver side. after you park the car for awhile, you wont hear the noise...but it 'll come back again somehow.

i hv the same car as you, too.

upper control arm, wheel bearing, or the spring / shock assemble is bad.
