Got a speeding ticket! What you think?
Motorcycle cop on the left lane and I was following year 2007 style Civic Si about 5-6 cars back, speed limit is 50. Civic hit his brakes after seeing the cop and gap is now 2 cars after I hit mt brakes too, I never saw the cop. All I seen was flashing lights and went beside the Civic so I was glad that it was not me but after Civic pulled over he told me to pull over too. I was polite as I can be but still got a ticket. He told me that he got the Civic for going 65 and since I was following close that I must be going the same speed. FREAKIN' BS. Half the reason for pulling me over is 04' WDP TL A-SPEC sitting on 20's 3 inch drop. (Cop magnet, haha) Oh well, I guess I'm off to court to fight this crap. FYI. It's in Air Base Parkway going towards Travis Air Force Base, CA. Got pulled over right in front of the gate, I was hoping he give me a warning for at least being in the military. Guess I was wrong. I still blame my bad ass TL. haha.

I think you're in the wrong forum. lol.
I think you can't beat it with that arguement. Cops know what to say to make the speed he "measured" legit.
I think speeding ticket have gotten too expensive to fuck around with. I've had my share, but I've given up on 'em. Used to be (back in the day, haha) 80 in 65 was $50. About 2 1/2 years ago, I was *guilty* of 36 in a 35 and it cost $160 (yeah, that's right) - $110 in court costs + $50 fine . That was it for me.
I think your car probably *is* a Cop Magnet, but I bet it's awesome.
Then again, I think the TL-S is a ticket waiting to happen. 10 months of good luck so far.

Sorry for the wrong section. Yah, I cut the springs and 20's are tires tucked under fender and no rub what so ever but hits hard on bumps, it's going back up an inch soon with Skunk2 springs. Oh yah, car is debadged and cop didn't know what it is and had to ask me what kind Acura it is, haha.

Fight it. Officer did not measure your speed with RADAR, just a guess because you were following close behind the other guy, according to you. If the officers was using distance & time then he better be prepped on testifying on how he used VASCAR & RADAR at the same time.
Bottom line, if he cannot confirm your speed from the RADAR unit then he cannot testify to your exact speed, which is what you got a ticket for- traveling exactly at 65mph.

No doubt, Highway 12 is no joke, a lot of fatalities. We were briefed by the military about that but not Air Base Parkway and sitting behind the bushes half a mile from the gate of the base. Been here for years and all I seen was fender benders and motorcycle cops hiding behind the bushes very close to the base. They know the military personnel will pay and it's hard for us to fight tickets because we deploy and we can't always be there to fight our ticket or maybe they feel safer pulling military people over because they feel safer because it 's not some thugs/tweeker from the steets. I know the city needs revenue but please do it somewhere else and not in a road that you know for sure goes straight to the military base. We do a lot for America's Freedom. Just my two cents.

Ca laws are different- and the Officer can ESTIMATE your speed- they dont need radar.
They can use marks on the road- pace you from an airplane, use a known distance betwen bushes and the time it takes to transit them AT THE SPEED LIMIT or a little above
Or as in this case- clock the car you are following, and when you nearly rear end them during their sudden braking---- its easy for the judge to believe the Officers version.
Be glad you didnt get `following too close` and `reckless driving`
Pay it and take the traffic school if you want to keep a clean record- or pay it and take the point
Nobody wins in traffic court, and you have to pay the full fine to schedule a court date in advance,- or wait in a very long line one day with everyone else.
Then about time the 8th or 50th person has gone up and had a ticket in the same place you did, told another version of the same story the judge has heard every day since they located this little speed trap.... ( oh wait - if you are speeding is it a really a trap?)
About that time, you realize that there is NO way the state of california, with its 8 Billion dollar budget shortfall, is ever going to refund money they made you pay in advance!!!!
Thats how it is
But the rest of us DO thank all of you for your service!!!
