here is a pic of it...try and ignore the cleanliness issue, it has rained all week. My problem is the gold blotches inbetween the layers of the mirror. Is there anyway to fix this? It seems like they are slowly moving to the corners of the mirror

This may be caused by leaving the mirror heaters on. I think the only fix is to replace the actual mirror part.

 

I have the same issue with my driver side mirror. It's been there since I've bought the car, and it's pretty annoying. I think the only way to fix it is what LoveMyTL-S said. Replace the mirror assembly.

 

Not the whole assembly, just the mirror glass itself.

 

But, I bet you can't buy just the mirror???

my passenger side has the same damn thing. i get pissed off every time i see it

 

I had the same thing, replaced the mirror (glass only). Luckily mine was covered under warranty.
