so in the last couple days i have noticed that starting off in first...

whether it be 2k to redline 3k to redline or just a dead stop to redline the car will rev out right at 5100k every time.... right at vtec

When this happens it makes me lunge forward like im slamming on the brakes and the motor gets really loud...

Any suggestions???

 

Took it to the dealer so hopefully i will know something tomorrow

 

What do you mean "rev out"? Does it hit a limiter and does not go beyond 5100 rpm, or does it spike up to 7k and hit that limiter? I'm guessing it is limiting right at the vtec engagement point and causing you to jerk back and forth because it's doing a fuel cut-off. Does it happen in other gears too?

 

Took it to Acura and it was that I was a half quart low on oil which was keeping btwc from engaging cause of low oil

Haha I said the same shit and I have 20k on it and also I will be doing a oil case study to See if my car is really burning oil

did the dealer give you a hard time? they didn't opt to fix the problem?

 

oh they def called and said it was a 1/2 quart low and asked what type of oil did i use (mobil 1 syn) and said they would top it off and the car would be ready to go. Got my car back and tested it many times and has yet to occur
