wondering if anyone documented a similar fix?

when the glovebox is closed, slight metallic rattle. if i put pressure on it or open it, its gone. help

 

happened on my TL too. I literally just fixed it today lol. it bugged me for the longest time, and it'd ONLY happen when it's cold(under 60 degrees). after the car was driven and heater turned on it'll go away. it was the "shroud" behind the glove box, hitting against the metal frame on the right side(right by the door).

I searched high and low for other ppl who had the issue so I could find out what was causing it. I found that same tsx thread but that wasnt the same cause on my TL, so eventually I narrowed it down.

to find out if you have the same issue, open your passenger door and glove box, and then move that area where the door wedges against the dash. hit it with your palm at a couple different areas.

 

For me, it started rattling right after I changed my cabin filter. When I opened the glove box, I realized that I never properly resecured the hinge onto the side of the glove box, so the hinge was rattling against it. Reinserting it fixed my rattle.

 

I was pretty sure there was a lengthy thread on this subject in the 3G forum, but maybe I'm thinking of something else? Did you look in the Garage (AKA Service Dept)?
