Glove box key problem

Glove box key problem
I tried locking my glove box compartment but the lock wouldn't turn when i put in my master key.
I don't know if i'm missing a step to the locking process or what but I'd imagine it be simple by just inserting the master key and turning it to lock. Maybe it's a lock defect.. I don't know.
Anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Thanks!!

Do you have the pass through in your trunk from the center seat? try the master key there, if it doesn't work then you had a similiar problem like me, i took it to the dealer and they did something to fix it.. although til this day im not exacly sure what they did lol

If gray, that's the valet key, which is not machined to open the glove compartment or the trunk pass-through.
If the key you are using is one of the black ones, then the glove box lock is misaligned, or the lock pins or key teeth are excessively worn.

Hey OP, did you remedy the problem? I'm having the same issue, haven't tried the pass through in the trunk though...going to see if it works there. I tried both master key 1 & 2, neither works for the glove compartment.

It sounds like your master keys are not the originals-- either they are copies made from the original valet key or your ignition was rekeyed for some reason.
If you bought the car CPO, the dealer should fix the issue.
Otherwise, you'll have to pay for new keys OR new glove compartment and pass-through locks.
