Gear Shift Noise

I apologize in advance for posting another noise issue but I did search the forum without any luck finding a solution.

My noise is definitely coming from the gear shifter. The best way to describe the noise - it sounds like a marble is rolling about a 1/4 of an inch when I accelerate from a stop and when I decelerate to a stop. It didn't do this when I bought the vehicle but has been doing it for the past 6 months. I can replicate the noise by putting the vehicle in park and then touching the brake pedal.....same noise but the car is stopped. Guess what the dealer told me this morning......"that's normal - all TL's make that noise". They seriously just told me that.

Two questions - has anyone else had this issue and if the dealership insists that this is a normal issue (can't / won't fix), what should I do about it?

Thanks for any thoughts!!!

Just got off the phone with the dealership......yep, this incredibly annoying noise is NORMAL - according to my dealership. If anyone has a 2005 TL Automatic, I would love to hear from you - do you have this noise when you accelerate / decelerate? My dealership said that they drove 6 vehicles today and they ALL made this noise. I find that impossible to believe!!

FYI, my car has started making the exact same noise at the exact same times (accelerate and decelerate). I too have a 2005 5AT.
