Front Suspension clunk on my 2007 TL - Type S

When driving over a speed bump, the front suspension has a pronounced "clunking" sound. It appears to be more noticeable when the strut is being extended. Again, sounds like a faulty bushing or something in the front strut assembly.

It is also noticeable on rough roads, along with the rear suspension noise.

My car has 500 miles on it, and this is very disappointing.

Anybody else have the front suspension issue as well?

350TLS - 1) you should not be slamming you brakes over any bumps

virafp - sounds like you may drive hard, and make some sharp turns, if it's what i think it is, it's happened to me before twice, where it's not a clunk but like a really weird clicking sound? coming from the front? if it is, take it to the dealer they'll replace it for you, if i remember correctly, a piece off the suspension up front is like torn/loose, and that is the sound you hear. Hope that helps

Hi: The car is not driven at all hard. The speed bumps are on a street on my way home, and they are what's called "25 mph rated". Even at under 25 mph, the front clunks when coming off the speed bump. Also, this is going straight over the bumps, no turning at all.

The noise is more pronounced in the right front wheel.

that happened to me the first day when I took the car off the dealer's lot. Surprised the *&%# out of me ... never happened again & I saw some related topics about the clunks during break=in period, so I'd let it slip rather than take it back to the dealer. So far I've been babying the car, so we will see what happened after the 600 mark.

let me ask you guys something...wouldn't you expect the car to be in perfect condition if you're spending $37k for a new car from a known company? also if something is wrong, doesnt it mean that something is not right and it needs a fix? this is my first new car and it would be my last..i had a choice between the type s and the is350..im beating myself right now..

I had "the clunk" make an appearance at about 20 miles showing on the odo......took it back, they had the car for two days. It turned out to be the front stabilizer (sway bar) where it connects to the lower arm. The bolts, although tight, were not tightened to factory spec. Problem gone.....
