I hae a 07 TL-S (auto) with about 450 miles.

I feel that the engine is slowing down the car when the car automatically downshifts. The problem is most noticeable at slow speeds. For example, I'm going about 25 mph and let go of the gas and do not press the brake, when the car is getting close to downshifting automatically, the car starts slowing down a lot as the shift point approaches, as if the engine is slowing down the car (and not the brakes). This sensation is sort of like driving a manual transmission car...the sensation you get when you are in a gear and accelerating...then quickly let off the accelerator and allow the car to slow itself down with the engine.

The slow down occurs without me pressing the brake. And no, the car isn't slowing down because I'm not on the gas...it feels like the engine is slowing the car down (i.e. it's pulling me/holding the car back).

Anyone else experience this sensation?

Oh ok thanks! Those two posts were pretty informative. I had no idea about "engine braking" but that sounds like what is going on with me. The thing is I had a 2005 TSX, and never experienced anything like this before. I just hope nobody behind me hits me when the car is engine braking (since my brake lights won't be on when engine braking is occuring).
