Freeway debris sukks!!!
Well the awesome 3 day weekend was ruined early do to debris on the freeway. I was going towards the park to meet up with some friends when i saw a small square shaped black bag on the freeway floor. It didn't look like much so i decided to just drive over it. BIG MISTAKE! tun...tun...tun...all i heard was a loud wack and my car slightly moved to the right. It all seemed to be running well till i got off the freeway...and i heard that my ATLP quads sounded like a lawn mower!!! So i got under the car and luckily nothing happened to my ATLP but I wish i could say the same for my J-pipe...
So i hit up the nearest Autozone and got some of this exhaust tape.
Temporary fix till i weld a patch on it today.
I just thought i would share to make you guys aware of the freeway dangers haha

Yea, there's all kinds of stuff in the road. I ran over a 5 gallon bucket once and put a dent in my bumper. But I've seen tires, hoses, ladders (yes ladders), rope, chairs, coolers and there's a ton of shoes out there too......... Glad it's not too serious and it's a quick fix.

Oh yeah, sux. I hit a brake drum (open side up) once in my 1972 Plymouth, ripped one of the header tubes open. I try to avoid all debris at all times.

Well...i got a friend at work to weld that sucker shut BUT...since we didn't have a lift accessible we had to improvise...
Don't worry though it's a 10 thousand pound forklift and i placed foam between the forks and the body. haha (i was shi**ing bricks)

Well, whatever you think about his efforts, that is no doubt a classic picture!
Most forklifts have a safety lock to lock the forks in place if need be. Hopefully that was done.
That picture reminds me of when I was stationed at Loring Air Force Base back in the early 90's. If you went TDY and left your car on base and it snowed, they would just fork lift it out of the way so they could plow the parking lot. Wonder how many cars were damaged?

You are lifting the car in a way it was not meant to be lifted. Frame damage could likely occur, as well crushing some important stuff that runs there. Use only the jack points to lift the car, even on a lift. As well I would never step under a car like that, the hydraulics could fail at any second and crush you, use a proper lift with locking pins or use jackstands.
YES, I'm pretty aware of that but it was only up for 5 minutes and i used foam on the main under body of the car, as well as slowly tested to see if any underside parts would bend or crush. Nothing happened though and everything went fine. Trust me I hated the idea but it was the only quick and free of charge fix. I will never do it again though!!
P.S that's not my under it...i told him to get out but he's one of those "know it all" type of people and tried to be kool by being under there

They do that at our company rarely too...not due to snow though. Some people like to rebel and park in the no parking zone after they have been warned, so we save money by "forking" it instead of towing it.
thanks haha...i wish i wouldn't of had to do it though
