guys, i apologize, ive only had my car for 4 months and its my first foreign car. so far i love it!

please answer me this though, last night a service soon light came on...it said "SERVICE DUE SOON A1" what does that mean? and how do i get rid of this warning light....obviously after i fix or repair everything it needs.

i'm sure this is dumb but i couldnt find a definition when i did a search.

 

A1 is oil change and tire rotation.

Sometimes ,you will see a "B" vs an "A" on your TL.when you go to the dealer, its billed differently and also requires different procedures (fluids,grease hinges,underbody inspection etc for B)
Followed by a number:

Service 1: Tire Rotation
Service 2 : Engine Air Filter and Cabin Air Filter Replacement
Service 3: Transmission Fluid Drain/Fill, Check CV Boots
Service 4:Spark Plugs,T/Belt,Water Pump, valve clearance adjustment..
Service 5:Cooling system Test and Flush
You may also see this : A123 ( Means you need a Service A1, 2, & 3.

 

I'm not sure the 3G TL is a "foreign car," as it was designed and assembled in Ohio, but with enough foreign parts that it might not be a domestic car either.

Thanks guys!!!! So basically change the oil ok, I can handle that. Does my owners manual explain how to turn off the warning light?

 

It's foreign to me meaning, it runs good drives good and has power. I am not a fan of domestic cars and have only had late model trucks up until now. (Mostly diesel trucks) the price of fuel and a costly divorce forced me to buy this ride used. It still looks sporty and is a nice car so here I am.

 

Lol. Wherever you take it to to change the oil, will most likely reset it/turn it off for you. If you're changing the oil yourself, look it up on here or in your manual.

 

With the car in park, and the warning message showing on the MID push and hold the reset button until it shows a message that the maintenance reminder is reset.
