Flickering issue with kaixen 6000k?

Has anyone had a problem with Kaixen bulbs? Recently installed a pair and one flickers a little bit, I've only had them in a couple of hours... will it possibly get better or worse?

My brand new bubls flickered about 10 mins after installing them... so i'm trying to see if other people have had the same problem, headlights flickering are soo embarrassing... just imagine seeing a set of nice headlights from far away (also trying to guess what kind of car it is) then you see it flicker

Mine has too. I asked JNC about this because I thought it might be my ignitor/ballast. He said that it was very common with aftermarket bulbs to flicker every now and then.

I've had my 6k Kaixen bulbs for almost 1yr now and no flickering issues. You are not talking about the initial startup where it semi-flickers turning correct?

I've had some used Kraixen's in for about 6 months and the driver side has the frequent flickers. The bulb was fine until about 2 weeks ago, and is getting worse. It actually when out until I turned it on/off once.

Just bought some 85122+ Phillips.

Mine did the same thing recently, I have had mine for about 8 months now and at around the 6 month mark they started flickering, but only the driver side. And recently it has gotten so bad that the driver side goes out occasionally until I turn the lights off and then turn them back on. I am thinking about going with a set of Phillips now. I had nothing but praise about my Kaixen's until this started happening.

Doesnt surprise me as they are probably cheap asian made bulbs. If you want the best light output and quality stay with OEM Philips or Osram type bulbs.

Those cheapo bulbs dont last, they flicker, and they often change colors to where one side looks different than the other. I would rather have a halogen headlight than deal with that crap.

Good choice. I just want to let you know that the Philips 85122+ bulbs will stay yellowish there is a big mis-interpretation about them. They are designed to stay at their original lumens longer and they dont "colorshift" like the standard 85122 bulbs. I have used them on multiple occassions and I just dont want to see you upset that your headlights look almost halogen yellow. They are nice and bright though!!

I really didn't find any contradictory info. From what I've read, everyone says there more yellow. They are very bright!

I put the Philips in last night and I really like the light output. I also have replica ZKW lenses in the projectors. I can see a lot more detail on the road vs Osram and Kaixen. I do miss the coolness "look" factor to the 5K Kaixen and 5K lower fogs. I also swapped the lower HID bulbs on my 07-08 fogs to 4300K bulbs.

No doubt that Kraixen bulb was bad. Philips FTW!

I just ordered some Phillips Ultinon 6000k. Twice the price of the Kaixens but hopefully they don't have the flickering issue.

Goog info to know. I am in the process of buying new bulbs and only heard good things about Kaixen, and how they are not the cheap asian made bulbs that burn out after a few months, but I guess I'll have to go with the Phillips 85122+ bulbs.

Big

What you lose in coolness of color you certainly gain it with the intense flicker affect with the clear lenses and 85122+ bulbs .

I use to have ulitnons in my 02 TL-S back in the day, they use to flicker a bit as well but only during the initial turn on. One thing you will notice with the Ultinons is that they will be noticeably bluer than the kaixen once they color shift i.e. after 100 or so hours worth of usage.

sorry guys but its not normal for aftermarket bulbs to do that..... if they do return them get other ones.....its the bulbs not the ballasts..... sometimes they come loose sometimes the gases are weak on the inside...whatever..... also the ballasts that we use stock on the cars are not too good with aftermarket parts....they work with specific frequencies on phillips osram and GE bulbs that pass through and if they dont match what is programmed in the ballasts computer they wont turn on after a while or would shut off as ur driving. the philips 6000k are worth it because of compatibility and the color output is sexy. I personally think the ballasts that acura puts in there from the factory are junk lol

Here is a pic of the Philips 85122+
The lower fogs are 07-08 w/ HID kit, 4300K cheap ebay bulbs. Can't complain for 16 bucks shipped. The Philips are a little more white.

All brands have defective units from time to time; KAIXEN is no exception. However, the defect rate on the KAIXEN bulbs is about 1%. Of all the brands of HID kits or HID bulbs we have sold, none have touched the quality, reliability, or longevity of KAIXEN bulbs. There are hundreds of members on AZ running the KAIXEN bulbs with no issues.

To the OP it is possible you got a defective bulb. There is a 1 year warranty on the bulbs so you will get a new bulb.

Josh ur absolutely correct, the actual rate of quality deviation for HIDs is about 50/50

theres never a perfect bulb or ballast...oem or aftermarket all bound to break.
