Settle down- everyone is at lunch. The car hasn't exploded yet, has it?

But seriously, it might be a bad tank of gasoline.
Also go to the TL's gas cap, take it off and then put it back on; tighten three (3) clicks.

Welcome to AZ.

Usually when the check engine light flashes it is an indication of a misfire.

random misfire in cylinders, check coils and plugs immediately.

agreed most likely coils or plugs causing a misfire. Both easy fixes though.

This may apply if it only happens at wide open throttle

I have a 2004 TL and it does this too. No code, based on my trips to the dealer. This clunker does it all the time. Just get used to it. Wait until all the little lights behind your heated seat switch, AC switch, Hazard Switch fail, or your headliner falls down. I wouldn't worry about it. Mine seems to be fine and it has about 100,000 kms on it.
