Flashing CEL at high RPMs

08 TL here, 75k miles on replacement JDM engine. My check engine light flashes when I exceed 5k rpms. I generally drive her pretty easy, but would like to diagnose the issue and make sure it's not a larger problem. According to my reading, flashing CEL generally means misfires, so I'm looking at fuel pressure, coils, and plugs. The computer is storing no codes.

Does anyone have experience w this problem? Thanks.

plugs look clean and coils only have 75k on them. I have extra working coils, but hard to tell which cylinder is misfiring without a code.

75k isn't really low mileage for plugs or coils, even these days.

You're right, a flashing CEL is going to be misfire 99% of the time. The fact that it's happening only at high RPM would make me suspect something fuel-related, but like anything check the cheapest stuff first and work your way up. Visual inspection of spark plugs, swapping out coils. Might be tedious work but at least you'll narrow it down. Having extra coils sounds handy.

Premium only, but good thought. Inspected the plugs and they're nearly new. Coils sparking pretty solidly so I'm leaning toward fuel pressure or a clogged filter. Need to get a pressure tester.

I did have one thought on this problem while driving tonite. This is a JDM Japanese engine with USA ECU and emissions setup. So it's possible the CEL is spurious or the ECU doesn't like what the engine is reporting?

Not an expert on this topic but maybe somebody knowledgeable can weigh in?
