Finally fixed my armrest

I am sure I am not the only person who is sick of their arm rest. i have an 06 with 47k on it and my arm rest is spent. Just about all the foam is gone and I got tired of resting my arm on hard plastic. So I took out the 50 screws and got the rest down to bare materials. Took about 5 mins to peel the leather off the plastic arm rest. I was suprised how well this went. Wnet to the hobby store and goop glue. After cutting a while I got the foam to fit nice. I bought 1 inch foam and it works great. You just insert the foam and begin glueing the leather back down a little at a time. Now I have a nice soft place to rest my arm. This was well worth the time and effort.

Sorry no pics. I looked for the camera before I started but my wife took it out of town with her. This was an extremely easy fix though. As you go through it you will see what I mean. Break the whole thing down until you get down to just the piece with the leather glued to it. After peeling it off cut your foam to fit. The foam that comes out is less than a 1/4 of an inch. I put in 1 inch foram. I was unable to wrap the foam around the sides of the rest because the new foam was much thicker. I just cut it to fit exactly along the top of the rest. Fit the foam into the leather and place the black plastic part that it glues to over the foam. Then begin to glue each tab streatching it as you go. You have to glue a piece or two and stop and let dry. If you dont do it like this it will not streach properly. When the glue is dry all around reasemble. I am telling you this thing is so soft and better than the day it rolled off the line.

If you have less than 50K miles, then it's covered under warranty. Mine wore out after only 1 year and Acura swapped it out.
