Well I was driving the S and the car felt like it started to hesitate and sputter a bit, the VSA, check engine light, both came on and the car was stuck in limp mode in 3rd gear. Shutting the car off and back on releases it from the 3rd gear purgatory and allows you to drive as normal with the engine light remaining on.

So after searching on here and the net I found the P2138 code which was thrown and shown as a message on the acura link navi is an APP sensor for the accelerator...My local Acura Stealership wants 170 plus tax for the part and I found it on acuraoemparts.com for 130. Non the less I want to attempt the install myself

-Does anyone know where the APP sensor is located in the car? By the looks of the diagram from Acura it was no help in showing where this sensor is located.. any help would be appreciated.

-Have any of you guys done this APP sensor replacement yourself? If so what kind of info can you send me?

My car jerks and drops gears on its own whenever I press hard on the acceleration throttle. When it sputters, I pull over and switch off the engine. Once switched on it drives fine again until I present the throttle hard again. The scanner says there's nothing wrong with my transmission (I've recently changed my transmission oil) but I got an 84-1 code. I use a 2006 Acura tl.
