hey there...i have a 04 tl with 125k on it....i have noticed the the purge solenoid is on a constant purge...is this normal...i bought a new purge solenoid for $115 and its still doing the same....i was told that its only supposed to purge at a specific time...any help would really help me out...thanks

Also im not sure if this is relatede to the purge promblem im having but my car seems to have lost some power...i just recently changed my timing belt, water pump and spark plugs and air filter....also im getting like 100 miles with a half tank of gas...sounds crazy rite...i know ...ive been reading alot of these forums and see that maybe i need a valve adjustment.....any info would be helpfull...thanks!!!

on my 04 tl...the purge solenoid is constantally purging....does anyone know the cause of this?....could it be the canister?....

There is vacuum to the purge valve whenever the engine temp is over 149 degrees, so under normal operating temps the valve is always open.

what code are you getting that's telling you this?

if it is p2422, i have a simple fix that costs nothing

Im not getting no code...i just noticed the hissing sound coming from the purge solenoid...my friend got the same car n his doesnt have the constant purge like my tl under normal idle....so thats what makes me think there is something wrong

sounds to me you have a vacum leak. or maybe its that cool high flowing k/n filter you just replaced on that typhoon intake system.
i have an aftermarket intake system, and my car "hisses" very loud when cold started or a/c on.
