is this an ENGINE or TRANNY problem?

I cant believe what I just had to go through.

SO a month ago a rat chewed my knock sensor for the second time. The first time (a year ago) I took it to get fixed at a local spot and they fkd up my rack and pinion. Thank god my car was still under warranty. This time I decided to follow this DIY:

http://photos.imageevent.com/astrobo...eplacement.pdf

It looked pretty simple and would of saved me $500. The harness to replace is only $6. I tried to fix the harness today myself but decided not to go ahead with it after being stuck on step 4, I couldnt find the EVAP hoses. So I placed all the plugs and screws back to where they belong.

After driving an hour my car rev up to 6 rpms and then to 1 then 5 then down again and I was still at 30 mph. The car then started to jerk back and forth. I pulled up to the side of the highway. I changed the gear from park to drive and the car did not want to move. I turned the car off and then the car moved again. Everytime I went over 30mph the car will start jerking and the rpms will start going crazy. I then started to drive no more than 30 and everytime I went over a hill the MPH will lower automatically and the rpm would rise as I press gas. My brother had to push me most of the time through our 2 hour drive home. My D light (tranny) did blink a few times but ended up stopping. When I place the car on park it made a big clank sound and it was not on a hill.

So I dont know if this problem stems from me waiting so long and not changing the sensor, or from me trying to fix the sensor myself, or just simply a tranny issue independent from the CEL..

Yea. I looked at it today again. This sux Im just going to take it to Acura on tuesday and just mention the engine light. Im not even going to mention the problems that I'm having just in case I did connect or disconnect anything wrong. they will connect it properly. I just hope the car gets there in one piece

write a note for the tech- save a lot of time tracking stuff down if they know to check your work first

So you suggest I tell the tech everything that happened not just the CEL being on due to a knock sensor.. I figure if they fix the sensor I can Blame the other stuff on them so the job won't come out to expensive..But then I feel I should just tell them right from the start so everything could get fixed right away.. What do you think ?

I think you could have fixed the knock sensor, step 4 wasn't the hardest part. It's just saying to remove the hoses from the TB, I skipped this and removed the TB from the intake manifold instead.

I think I could had fixed it as well.. But the diagram had me gng nuts. I did not know where the hoses were located.. I looked at intake at all angles and couldn't see the set up.. I have an 05 tl the diagram Is for an 04 so I don't know if the set up Is different.. Btw what's "TB"

Btw I just drove to manhattan.. Parked the car around the corner from Acura.. My pops had to pull me with his suv. Hopefully it was something I did rather than it being the tranny.. The vsa light went on so did the tranny.. I turned the car off and on again and the lights went away... Everyone Is telling me that it might be electrical.. I'm hopeing for the best and most economical
