Engine swap cooling hoses question - MT vs Auto

So I'm finishing up my engine swap yesyerday when I realize there are 2 extra cooling hose connections on my new motor. I checked the parts diagram and think that I have figured out what is going on....the new motor came from a car with an automatic trans while my car is a MT. I labeled the 2 extra connections on the attached parts diagrams as 1 and 2. I also circled the "part" where these 2 extra hoses connect to which is unlabeled in the parts diagram and i can't find it anywhere else so i don't know what you call it. I looked at my wife's Accord w/an Auto trans and the Accord also has this mystery part. So my questions are:
  1. what is this part and do i need it?
  2. maybe a better question is; can i just add this part to my new motor that has the hose connections for it while my car is still a MT.
  3. if i can't just add the part; can i simply plug off these 2 extra connections and leave them in place?
Now, I could just swap my old "water passage assembly" and "connecting pipe" to eliminate the 2 extra connections....however, that requires removing the intake manifold which, very unfortuntaly, I just did, not even a few days ago...that included new gaskets...

anyone have any experience here and can offer some educated advice.

ok - i figured out the mystery part is the "automatic transmission fluid warmer". I clearly cannot just add this part. That answers questions 1 & 2.

So the 3rd question above remains: Can I just plug off these 2 hose connections? My gut tells me its really no big deal since they are serving no purpose other than the routing of warm coolant to the transmission and then back around.

If anyone sees any danger in plugging off these 2 hose connections - please let me know.

Thanks

...Maybe I can just route one hose from one connection to the other...

You can use a piece of hose to just bypass/connect 1 to 2 on the diagram, or plug them. Or reuse your MT parts that didn't have the extra piping.
