Hello,
I have a 06 TL with 43k miles. I was at a stop light and then suddenly I notice my engine became very erratic and the engine light came on. I was able to drive it about a block back home but it didn't have much power. It seemed to me it was running on about two cylinders. When I got home the exhaust smelled funny maybe what it would smell like if some spark plugs weren't firing.

The car has been perfect until this.

Any ideas what I might be dealing with. Going to have it towed to Acura tomorrow. Still under warranty.

Tough one. Dunno what it could be, probably could be something wrong with the engine/pistons.

Hoping the best for ya.

 

Aside from the smell the symptoms KINDA sound similar to when a couple coil packs went out. The smell throws me off, hope you get worked out.

 

Would it be likely that more than one coil pack would go bad at the same time?

Check to see if any of your spark plugs are loose before you drive it anywhere.
