Engine shakes when hovering at 1500rpm

Engine shakes when hovering at 1500rpm
I've had my 2008 acura TL for almost a year and half now (bought with 83k miles and I got 105k now) and I've had this problem ever since I've had it. I don't notice any slippage in gears but whenever I cruise at low speeds and I hover at 1500 rpm, the engine shakes and everyone in the car can feel the shaking. It seems as if its shaking as its switching from first to second gear. The shaking doesn't happen if I accelerate constantly but happens only if I hover at first then give it a slight acceleration. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks for the help!

No I have not...I was looking at doing the timing belt soon though..in the last 3 months I started hearing a slightly different sound once I turned on the car (pre warmed up)...I'm guessin that might have somethin to do with the timing belt..is it true that both should be done at the same time (belt and water pump)?

You don't have to, it's just recommended. Doing it at the same time saves labour (cause they're down there anyways) and ensures you're good for another 105k's...for an example, you don't want to change just the timing belt and then the water pump blows around 20-30k's later. Me personally would do both...the 105k service is around 850 or so in canada and that comes with timing belt, water pump, plugs and others.

I'd say it's normal unless the check engine light is on. Put it in neutral and raise the RPM's to the 1200/1500 range and you'll feel the vibration.
There was a TSB for the 2004 cars, but many have had the problem. Haven't heard it much for the '07-'08 as the engine mounts were changed. Just check the mounts to be sure they're not damaged.

Well it's really between 1500-1700 rpm..I'm not an expert at all but it seems like it does so from first to second gear..and this is only if I accelerate slowly and constant..from 0-60 (highway) I don't feel any shaking..

No...he said shaking not vibration. IMO, vibration is exhaust and shaking/rocking would be engine and/or trans. I've never had this "shaking" so I was just throwing it out there. No one else was helping him at that...I was high, leave me alone.

Yea it's more shaking then vibrating. I gotta add something in where if I brake or right after I brake (like I would brake and then a second later) it would auto brake on its own. It is really weird. Again, it doesn't happen everytime. It's more like every now and then.

I never did it, but I've had the car like 18 months or so. It only happens after I start braking, where once I start braking and regardless of me letting go of the brake pad, it'll brake on its own (its almost as if it lowers gears on its own, like somene is decelaring using the triptronic).
not sure what that is?

for your shaking issue it sounds similar to the issue i have the trans in my 08 base. If you linger around 1500 my car will shake/vibrate, enough so that a passenger could notice it. I changed out my pressure switches a few thousand miles ago even though my car just hit 47,000 miles. It helped but the real change came when i changed the tranny fluid. I first used DW-1 from honda and then switched to redline D4, still need do a 2x3 and so on but it did seem to help my shaking issues. I can definitely still induce the shaking if i needed but its much harder now.
Hopefully this helps with your problem, it can be really irritating

yeah thats easy get fluid and switches for the tranny and your other issue regarding the car continuing to brake is actually the "grade logic" in the transmission. it provides additional engine braking when it senses your going downhill and have applied the brakes.
