Same issue in the past!!!

I had 1 cyclinder that was misfiring and didnt notice it until the car didnt start one morning. I had driven the car very argressive and that particular spark plug melted due to the heat and etc. It was eventually change and car runs great. Keep an eye on it and return it to the dealer.

If it was just one plug or one coil or injector the car would most likely only have a missfire on that particular cylinder, since there are random multiple missfires on all cylinders this is most likely a gas problem.

i put premium gas from different gas stations and it stiil misfires, i took the car to 3 differrent mechanics and they all said the same thing, misfiring and theyre not sure what the problem is. could it be some sensor or a computer, basically every cylinder is misfiring.

I would then reset the computer, undo the battery and wait about 10-15 minutes (be sure to have radio and nav anti-theft codes handy). This will reset the car's systems. Then do an idle learn procedure, this is done by holding down the gas to 3k rpms for 10 minutes (all items in car of, radio/ac/etc), do not count time in which the radiator fans run.

Please don't do this.

Ask the dealer to see if your PCM has the latest software, then do the crankshaft position pattern learn procedure (CKP Pattern learn).

Good luck!

I had this same misfire issue, and all I can say is that after visiting the dealer at least three different times(bad gas, no code, no code-from them each time!) Had the PCM reset with the newest software and no issue's since then. This is on an '04, so I don't knowe if the TSB that I had would work for the '05.?

I figured out what my problem was and fixed it earlier- only one cyclinder was misfiring and i pulled the spark plug out and the 4 prongs were gone (bosch platinum 4 iridium plug) and also the coil pack had ooil on it so i'm thinking i have to replace a seal so this wont happen again but for now i changed the plug out and everything is fine so far. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what spark plugs to use...for high performance that is?

Sorry, but my statement above ^ was partially incorrect (online at work, and had to run). The dealership did find a misfire on cylinder 1 and 3(?), the first time in and blamed it on bad gas. The following 2 times it said misfire, they had no resolution, not (no code). The third time in I had brought the TSB for "Random Misfire" and had them perform the ECM/PCM upgrade and have had no problems since.

OP-Hope this helps ya! This was copied from another thread(https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/acura-tl-engine-misfire-702560/)

The problem is false codes. there is a tsb on this problem. The Ecu needs to be reprogrammed.

I got the same codes again today every PO301 to 306 except 303 which i believe is the spark plug i had changed out (the front in the middle) not quite sure what the problem is- maybe i will have to see if i have the latest software in my computer- is there a fee for them to upgrade the software? - we all know dealerships as soon as you pull in the parking lot you might as well hand them $50 just to park lol

BUMP...havent been on in a while but i resolved this problem by replacing the rubber spark plug seal under the valve cover. A few of them were bad (mis-shaped) so i replaced them all while i had the cover off.

Bump..again. I was driving home yesterday and once again i had a misfire. I took out my plug and sure enough the prong was missing. (I cant post a pic because im at work) this time I had OEM plugs in the car i am pretty sure its the exact same cylinder that it was the first time. It took a year and a half for this to occur again but it still did it yet again. Anyone have any idea what would cause the tip of the spark plug to burn off like that? A coworker said it may be from running too lean or possibly a bad fuel injector.

Holy fucking thread bump.

04.. you should post a new thread so people don't confuse the OP with the issue at hand. You guys should know better.

Regarding your SP burning up.. the cause is preignition / det in that cylinder. What fuel are you using? What plug do you have installed (exact PN)? If it's not fuel / spark.. it's probably valve/piston/rod/bearing related. Get a leakdown and compression test.

You also might want to check the spark plug threading.

I use premium all the way nothing else. The spark plug is NGK 1ZFR6K-11 which is what is OEM on the car. I did a compression test after it happened last time and everything was within the limits of where it should be. I will retest it when i have a chance and see if anything changed dramatically

^try a leak down test instead of the compression test

hmmm.. alternate culprits, egr valve or fuel injector. When was the last time you put fuel injector cleaner through the tank.. I suggest Berryman's B-12 FI Cleaner.

so you do run FI cleaner once in a while.. unless it's faulty, I don't see it being the issue then. EGR valve clogged up could cause preign issues. I don't think it would cause an isolated issue though.

remove the EGR valve and clean it of debris, if any.
