Emptying the washer fluid reservoir?

Emptying the washer fluid reservoir?
What is the best way to empty the washer fluid reservoir? Mine is pretty much full with whatever they use at the dealership. I'm guessing it isn't rated for extreme cold. Anyway, I just got some Rain-X 2in1 de-icer/bug removal washer fluid that I'd like to use. Is the reservoir designed to be removed? Thanks.

just pour the new stuff in as much as you can and save the rest till needed. That added portion will freeze proof it. if you want to empty it some just spray it on your windshield!

Drifting
70mph and holding the lever back usually works for me. Every time I go to the dealer, I ask them not to top it off. They do. So the drive home, about every 5 minutes, I just hold the lever back for 30-60 seconds at a time. Then when I get home I fill it back up with Rain-X.
Unless your dealer sucks, I would assume they use the appropriate fluid for your region. I have never had "issues" with the stuff they use during the winter. I just prefer the Rain-X fluids so I don't have to run my wipers as much in the rain.

I can pretty much see the blue stuff when I open up the top for the reservoir. The bottle says do not dilute so I didn't want to risk it mixing with the old stuff.
I just assumed they used the cheapest stuff. I get the feeling they really don't care about you. Looks like other dealers treat people better. I have heard great things about Rain-X and would like to try it out asap. I'm going to wake up to like 25 degree weather tomorrow and it would be nice to have that de-icer running soon.

The washer pump is just pushed into the tank with a rubber grommet so it can just be pulled out. I can't recall how easy it is to get to it through either the fenderwell or just behind the bumper.
Obviously removing the bumper will give you the best access but that's extreme.

Yeah....removing the reservoir seemed like too much trouble so I just squirted more frequently. Man that thing squirts far. Even my trunk gets hit with the fluid. I have dried water stains all over the top. This Rain-X de-icer fluid shouldn't affect the paint right? I think it's alcohol based.

I had to drain my washer tank when the fluid froze last winter. Remove the three button clips on the passenger front fender liner and a few of the screws/clips on the bottom. The washer pump is held in by a grommet and it comes out easily by hand to drain or let it defrost in my case.
