Electrical Problem
Hi Guys,
Haven't been on Azine for a bit, but still own my 2005 Acura TL Auto w/Nav.
Recently been having this odd electrical issue, When I park the car and turn off the engine, remove the key, put key back in and try to start, all the lights go off in the car. I'm sitting in the dark and nothing works. I would either:
1. have to manually pull the trunk release or
2. go to the driver side door and manually turn right twice to unlock the doors for the lights to come back on (if that works, didn't work today)
3. Manually go and pull the lock up on the passenger door to get to the manual trunk release
I've had on incident where my radio and nav restart while driving, the radio would cut out and come back, but the nav was off and would reboot, I parked the car, turned off the engine and the car was dead, open the trunk and the lights would come back on. I suspected it was the alternator since I've had an issue a few years back with it, but I replaced it with TLS one a few years back.
I'm just really lost on what this issue is, I've replaced the battery already since Autozone said my battery was low, but the issue still occurs.
Just wanted to ask you guys what the issue might be. I've also asked paperboy42190 about my issues and he's unsure too.

Battery terminals, what do they look like? is your HFL removed?

The Terminals
Here are the battery terminals, there is some corrosion on the Negative side, should I thoroughly clean it? Both sides are fairly tight, but I did have some problems with the positive side, I managed to make it tighter by using some pliers to get a better contact with the battery.
I haven't had issues with the HFL, but I'll go ahead and disable it.
Looking forward to fixing this issue, I'll keep you guys updated.

I cut away some of the insulation on my positive wire when I put a new clamp on it. There was a lot of corrosion on the wire, between the copper strands.
Next time I have issues, I’m replacing the whole cable. Might want to check that.

Alright, finally had some time to do some problem fixing, I just removed the HFL unit, it was really really warm even when not in use. I will go ahead and check on the lines. Do you mean the entire wire after the clamp?

Update:
With the HFL disconnected I managed to start the car every time except once, had to play with the battery terminals a bit.
Thoroughly cleaned both clamps and checked wires, wires still look nice, not having trouble so far after this. Hopefully this was the culprit.
Thanks again for helping me everyone!
