DRL Light on Dash

Hey I guys, new owner here of a Type-S. I bought this car as a CPO Monday night (10/29). I recently noticed that an indicator light for the DRLs are always coming on. I thought this was just indicating that the DRLs are on, so I ignored it. Then as I'm driving and pulling into a parking spot and see my car reflection on the window in front of the stall, I notice the DRLs are not on where the high beams are. Doing a little research I come to find that the DRL indicator light is actually a warning light meaning there is something wrong with the system. I am pretty disappointed I already have an electrical problem with a car that was certified by Acura. Any suggestions on what to do or should I just take it back to the dealer to get it serviced? Will they charge me? I have an extended non-powertrain warranty that does not mention if this is covered or not. It just says standard maintenance electrical items are not covered such as HID system, fuses, etc.

doesnt necessarily mean something major is wrong. check the fuse, it's under your steering column near the dead pedal. turn your car off before you go pulling fuses tho. i'd also remove your neg battery cable as well.

if the fuse is ok, then it must be the bulbs themself that are bad.

I had the same light come on and up here in CanaDUh , dunno about down there, it indicated I had a headlight out. Do you have low beams at all or any DRL?

Mine came on right after I changed up to a brighter lamp and I didn't have it plugged in all the way.

Now that I think of it .. I think the US is different , mine is an 06 and we have DRLS where in the US they had fogs on that spot. Anyway .. check to see if your DRLs are working .. up here is 1 goes out they both shut down.

I have low beams on auto and they come on when it's dark. Just no DRL for the high beams.

DRLs should be on any time the headlights aren't.

Start the car .. shut off the lights and with the e-brake off look to see if the DRLs are on ... if not .. look in the manual and see how to change them .. usually 1 will be out shutting them both off.

FYI... not sure if the DRL's that you have are aftermarket and may have been switched out by previous owner but if so... this might be the reason since there has been cases when the replacement DRL harness w/fuse does not work and the light in your console will stay on. It does not mean anything is wrong, it's just stays on...

Since you just bought the car it should still be under the dealers warrany, which is usually 3 months. On my 350Z, the window motor went out and they replaced it free.

if you bought it as CPO then toss it to the dealership and have them deal with it.

Re-solder the burned contacts inside the DRL control unit. Common issue since they were mandatory here in 1990.

I'm pretty sure that most states mandate that vehicles purchased from a dealership are supposed to be guaranteed for at least 3 days... sometimes even a month for any defects or malfunctions. Especially a CPO. Don't quote me though, I remember reading a plaque at a car dealership a few months ago that said something like this.

I would think the previous owner might have just pulled the fuse because they didn't like the DRL's. Like SharksBreath said, start there.
