Drivers Side Rear View Mirror Turning Brown
Hey Everyone,
My drivers side rear view mirror is turning brown (starting from the bottom and proceeding up). Has this happened to any one else yet. My TL has 88K miles.
Thank you,

Had the same issue after a car-wash and the mirror started getting brown spots. My dealership replaced it for free and said that the glass is only $8 and all they have to do is remove the old glass and stick the new one.

I have the same thing on mine 04 TL I ordered those Mirror sub-assy for both sides. I asked service manager @ Acura dealer - said no recall or any known defects, issues with those mirrors...

UMBERT thats funny because they acknowledge that at my dealer saying its something very common in the 04-06 mirrors....the 07 08 dont have it because it was changed and made bigger for the turn signals...i just upgraded them on mine lol.

Replace Your Side Mirror Glass
My side view mirrors have started getting rust spots and it seems pretty cheap/easy to replace them, so I plan on doing it soon.
For those interested, you can get the parts here:

Hmm... you may be right. There have been several times when I accidentally left the heaters on for extended periods. I'm sure parking it in the driveway through a couple Chicago winters didn't help, but thanks for the tip. I'll be more careful with the heater (I wish it had an auto-off feature like the rear defroster).

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but the same thing is happening to both side mirrors on my 05 TL. Dealer wanted $160 just for the parts so I ordered them from Delray for $55 shipped and I'll attempt to replace them myself.

I have the same with my drivers side view. Started from the bottom left corner and made its way up.
Was going to replace it but then my transmission went.
Replacement glass cost is around 35 bucks. Look on ebay for an OEM one which i've seen sell for about 25.

very easy. pop off mirror, unplug electronics, pop new mirror back in.
i replaced both of my side mirror glass even though they weren't that bad. before replacing it, i put a bead of silicone sealant all the way around the edge before putting them back on. my brown spots were from oxidation between the mirror layer and the backing (not from a heater being on...i never turn it on).
check out the scans here, but just look at the glass removal part:
