thanks alot. fixed it today. I didn't do anything. Parked it over night in the city and it was dangling off my car. I was pretty pissed. Someone keyed the other side of the car too

Fucking Jeolous ppl. As I have said before I know some people who didn't do the best they could have(financially) in their life and in return insult people with luxery items. For example they basically said our big screen TV was a waste of money(samsung 50" DLP with the built in stand in case you were wondering). I was in the car with them once and they were saying stuff like "assholes with there BMWs" and it really pisses me off. I wanted to say, hey, its not there fucking fault they paid attention in school.

Does anyone have pictures? I am not sure by door panel removal....does the whole panel come off? What I mean is the whole panel (speaker) everything comes off? Or just the top part?
I need to replace my passenger mirror.

Does anyone know if there are any significant changes to replacing the passenger side mirror? I read a different post that says that for the passenger side all you need to do is remove the little triangular cover (without having to remove the entire door panel). Is this accurate?
Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I know this thread has been closed for a while, but I am trying to figure out how to remove the actual GLASS from the mirror holder plate. I looked at DIYs online that require you to break the glass and scrape the glass off with a scraper. I don't want to break the glass, I want to take off the passenger side view mirror glass from the glass holder and keep it in-tact. I have just the glass (not the holder that connects the glass mirror to the actuator).
Anybody help?

I think I am just going to have to physically break the glass of the mirror holder and scrape it all off.
I saw DIYs for this online, will probably work for what I have, just wanted to spare the glass itself. Oh well.

There is a 'side mirror removal' DIY on Acurazine and it is INCOMPLETE. It starts with 'just pull the triangle shaped inner door panel off with your hands'.
No. DOESNT WORK like that.
You do have to take the panel off to get to the inner most electrical connector to disconnect, and to pry a nylon anchor that is hidden behind the panel to free up triangle portion.
In the image I include, there are two screws also not showing. They are behind a pry door just behind the door lever for opening the door. The stopper screw was a pain for me to remove... its a rubber door bumper of sorts. IIt needed a finishing tool pry from the door panel outwards to keep a pressure on the removal action, or the unscrewing merely backspins and does not extrude.
Otherwise all the nylon anchor points marked as item "D" (seven of them) got a plastic finish tool pry from the flattest one in the bundle. Work from the BOTTOM TO THE TOP one anchor by anchor, pull separated panel straight up to clear the manual door lock shaft and let dangle.
FYI you also have to stretch-remove the weatherstripping over their pinning tabs, from the leading edge of the door to make room for the 'triangle' section of panel to pull away enough to get the ratchet in to undo the three mirror assembly anchor bolts (aka 'forward facing' aka 'in the direct of the front of the car')
A deer decided to suicide itself on the hood, its head whipped around and the rack sheered off the entire mirror assembly.
The parts allege to be interchangeable with the 2006 TL model, but it isnt. The anchor bolts for the NEWER 06 MODEL TL happen to have thicker diameter, therefor a diff thread size. So I have to consider if I want to file the holes on the door for the thicker bolt anchors or return the junkyard mirror and wait for the proper year/sizing.
I also found that while the hood is correct size/fit, the plastic CHROMED TRIM on the leading edge of the hood also have different sized anchor bolts. This time they are SMALLER diameter than the original 04 has, and the nut size is 7mm not 8mm. But I suppose I shouldve put that in the 'hood DIY' section or something.
I only declare it 'easy' because I found every image I could to work from, CAREFULLY SLOWLY explored the areas shown (as no image is foolproof, Ive seen mislabeled year/model images all over the net routinely), and not rushing. Then its easy.
Going in blind with no clue where 18 yr old plastic anchor tabs are, on a winter's day in an uninsulated unheated garage suddenly becomes less easy and less confident.
