Driver window wont roll down

'08 Acura TL 40K miles
I have never had this problem, only owned the car for about 4 months and just today noticed that the driver side window would not roll down. I can here the switch click, and no bad noises, no crunching or anything. Every other window is working fine going up and down normally. I called the dealer and he told me to reset the window by holding the switch in the up position for 5 secs. Didn't help. I also searched AZ on this problem, no fixes posted except by taking it to the dealer and having them replace the regulator.

I have tried every combination of holding the switches for a long time in the up and down position and nothing fixes it. I can't believe a part just failed like this with no warning...it has to be a computer issue right? The dealership said it could be the regulator (this is their diagnosis without me bringing it in). I don't want to pay close to $500 for this. I have found a regulator for $80 but I still don't want to purchase this and then fiddle around with the install if it's not necessary. Anyone have any thoughts? THIS IS MY SECOND PROBLEM IN 2 MONTHS >
I thought these cars were reliable!

Sounds like regulator to me. Not sure what you mean by "computer issue", The window switch is connected to power and the window motor/regulator. Be grateful that the regulator is broken in the closed position, I had a window regulator cable snap and the whole window fell into the door. Window was open for days.. scary stuff in Los Angeles..

Well I thought that maybe the sensor that is used to detect when there is something blocking the window was malfunctioning and not letting the window receive any commands, I dont have any experience with repairing this car and I have heard that the electronic systems in this car are very touchy so that is what I jumped to initially.

Is there some detailed description for replacing the regulator? I found one in the 3G garage but it has only pictures from diagrams, I'd like some pictures of the actual car or even some videos documenting what to do, think anybody can help me out?

You can't call me lazy for asking for a video or better picture because I did search for a while before I asked!

Yeah thanks, I can definitely use this! I actually called the service department and told him my plan to do the work myself and he was nice enough to walk me through step by step and give me some helpful tips for a first time repair. Hoping for no more broken things for a while
