does it make the sound the entire way down or only at certain points? maybe the window needs to be cleaned, though from what you describe it sounds like maybe the motor is starting to die out.

I had this problem before. I went to Acura Dealer three times but they didn't find any problem. One day I found and realized the strange sound from. Because of the passange side mirrior loose when I driving the mirrior is shaking but I couldn't know it was mirrior I was thinking it was window borken or something. You can try to push your mirrior or you can ask Acura dealer to take look. After I told Acura dealer and they fixed the problem and also check driver side mirrior.

When I had my windows tinted awhile back the installer noticed the same noise on the front passenger side. While he had the window seals off the door we looked inside and noticed that there is a pulley wheel that works the up/down cable. This pulley gets stuck sometimes and does not move. This causes the cable to rub against the pulley as the motor works the window up and down.
I just need to go to the dealer and convince them of the problem so they can fix it.
