Angry Driver Side Lock Malfunctioning

Hello All,

I have a 2006 TL which is going a strange thing, when I start the car and close the drivers side door all doors locks lock automatically, it seems like something is triggering a signal which tells the computer to lock all doors. I have checked all driver settings and it is not the driver settings.

As soon as I start the car the driver side lock motor tries to unlock all the locks and then locks all the doors automatically. I have locked myself out twice as it started doing this, any ideas?

The car has 30,000 kms on it!

I think you should look back through the MID. I believe there was a driver setting in there for locking the doors. It's either lock when you start, when you hit 10mph or not at all. I can't remember exactly because it's been almost 2 years since I had my TL. Otherwise you may have a bad door lock actuator or maybe even a battery problem (doubt it's this causing the problem but you never know with all the battery problems on the TL).

Do you hav any type of after market alarm? Alot of the after market alarms systems behave that way.

Hello,

I do not have any after market alarm systems on the car, I also looked at all the settings and changed them to default and it still keeps happening. As soon as I close the driver side door and the car is started the locks make a weird clicking sound like they are trying to open and then close automatically.

I am taking it to the dealer to get it checked this week, I hope they will cover me under warranty.

Thanks.

i had a 06 tl in last month with a similar complaint. you probably have a bad driver side door lock actuator.

Hello nick04tl,

Thanks for letting me know, the car is going to the dealer tomorrow and I am sure the actuator is the culprit, I will let you guys know.

Thanks!
