Driver side floor carpet wet!
Did some searching and it looks like it could be a clogged sunroof drain. Also read about A/C lines. what is the best way to clear the tubes without air compressor? Ill have to pull the carpet to track down where water is coming from. any other suggestions?

Ive read these threads below.

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-problems-fixes-117/another-sun-roof-leak-777523/
Does anyone have a diagram of the drain tube for the A-pillars in the front? I want to know where the drain tube ends up under the car.

still baffled. I poured water down the driver side drain tube and it drained fine onto the concrete. I quickly looked under the carpet for any sign of water. I didn't see any. Still on the hunt.

Water leak on driver side floor HELP!
I posted in Problems section but didn't get any responses.

So tonight I removed the kick panel and side sill to peel the carpet back. The carpet is wet in the center. Not near the firewall or seat. The foam padding was all wet. Reading from the forums I checked the sunroof drain tube. I poured water down into the drain and looked for water under the carpet. Nothing. I closed the sunroof and proceeded to pour water down the whole driver side including the windshield and door. I still could not locate where the water is coming from. It doesn't look to be coolant as the fluid doesn't smell and I don't believe any A/C lines run there.
Things I've checked
1) Sunroof Drain Tube - Not clogged. Water drained fine.
2) Firewall area near pedals - Dry
3) Door area near gas door release - Dry

Did you clean the drain valve from the evaporator? It can condensate, even in the winter.
Does it smell like coolant? Is the coolant full?

Check the A/C condensation drain line.
Run your A/C on cold for 5 minutes and see if a pool of water builds up on the ground under the car.
If not, check under the car to see if a tech put a bolt or other plug over the drain line-- techs/oil change people do that to keep the condensate from draining on them while they are working, but sometimes forget to remove the plug.
There have been a number of fried ECUs (located at the bottom of the console center stack) as a result-- the water backs up the line and into the underdash area around the center stack, next to the accelerator pedal.

jda123 and Will Y, I will definitely check out what you have suggested. I rarely use the A/C. I did have timing belt service done few months ago and power steering recall work done as well. Not sure if at any time the techs would have plugged that drain.
Could someone point out where that drain is? Underneath the car at the frame rail? Or towards center of the car?

Was the passenger door ever removed/repaired? Does it get wet with the car just parked or after driving in the rain?
Check the weatherstripping around the lower passenger door. Spray a hose all around the door.
I had the same problem but it puddled in the rear foot well area.

I don't think it's the A/C drain line because the passenger side is fine. I read the threads and the drain tube is located on the passenger side.
This wetness is all on the driver side floor. It gets wet when it rains and when it is parked. I want to check the drain where the wipers are.

I let the car sit over the weekend and it rained yesterday. Driver floor side was wet again. I'm thinking it's a drain but still don't know which one. Only thing left to do is take the driver seat out and pull the whole carpet up and sit in the car while hosing the car with water.

I have a 2008 TL and had a wet floor caused by a defective inner door panel seal around the door speaker. The water would run out of the bottom of the speaker grill over the plastic door sill trim down the outside of the carpet and accumulate in the foot well area. The dealer kept trying to unclog the sun roof drains but I finally had to go into service and show them it leaked when water was directed on the drivers door glass and side mirror mount. The door panel had never been removed prior so not sure how the seal came to leak but regardless it was an easy fix under warranty. They also replaced the carpet and pad under warranty. Said that was the first time they had seen a leak there???

I took apart my door panel and checked the vapor barrier. The seals looked good. It was raining that day too so I felt around that bottom area and carpet near it. It was not the culprit. So I'm still baffled. It rained all day today and carpet got wet yet again. I'm determined to just take out the driver seat and pull carpet back. Then just sit there while car gets hosed down or do that when I know it's going to rain.

Years ago I worked in a GM assembly plant and believe it or not there were folks on the line that did exactly this as their job. Basically rode threw a car wash (no brushes or soap) over and over all day looking for and checking for leaks.

I think there was a member here that had a leak coming in from / along the firewall. Can't remember if it was from the base of the windshield or from the A-pillar, but I think he ultimately had to replace the fuse box.

My son has an 07 Acura TL that had water on the passenger floorboard also. Looked at the usual culprits...sunroof drain, ac drain, door seal and clogged drain under wipers to no avail. I pulled the passenger seat and carpet out and sprayed the car one section at a time with a hose to narrow the leak down. Water was running down the inner firewall and the back corner of the kick panel. I ended up pulling the passenger wheel well liner off and found a rubber feed through bushing for the side marker light that was pulled out of the body allowing water to enter through the firewall. Pushed the grommet back in place and voila! No more leak.

Hey Guys, found some water on drivers floor mat after a very bad rainstorm. Was odd cause the puddle was in the middle of the drivers all weather mat! After getting home noticed it under the floor mat, but at base of floor (where it is flat before going up to firewall. Checked sunroof drains, no clogs. Water drains to outside no problem. I did replace the window regulator months ago, but made sure vapor barrier was reattached. After another storm, in which I placed towels below door sill, and sure enough towels were damp. Removed door panel this morning, and ran a hose along window.
I noticed slight weaping of water in two areas under vapor barrier, and also around the door lock (where door connects to car), not sure door lock is correct terminology. Vapor barrier looks good, but there must be a problem with the glue. I don’t want to go to dealer, but may have too. I’ll try to upload the video I took of it coming out where the door connects to car when closed (door lock I mentioned above).
Any advice?

just use some window butyl rubber from the big box store to stick the vapor barrier back on!

^Any reason why I’d see water leaking through the door connection mechanism? (Idk what you’d call it?)
Thanks for the advice on the window butyl rubber. Home Depot would have this? Or Lowe’s?

I get mine from TheRetrofitSource for headlight retrofits https://www.theretrofitsource.com/oc...560?quantity=1
It''s odd, i'm wondering if you somehow messed up the window channel along the bottom of the window causing the water to go into the channel rather than wick away onto the outer door panel, can you check that ?

I’ll take pics I noticed the window channel is 1/2” from mirror, thought about sliding it down to mirror. I almost took a pic, but forgot. Damn work.
Thanks for the links. I’ll check to see who is cheaper. I’d luv to bake my headlights after JNC did it. One day.

Found the leak.
If you remove the fuse Box, behind the fuse Box and above it you will see the hose that comes from the sun roof. It connects to a rubber that goes through the Fender. That rubber that connects to the clear hose is always loose. Either glue it or clamp it to solve the problem.

Yes u can fix it
You can weld a new piece of sheet metal or do what I did. For small areas I used JB weld. It gets as hard as metal. I used it because the drain plug on my floor board rusted out completely. I will try to take a pic tomorrow to show u.
