Drive by wire reset
Drive by wire reset
I completed the drive by wire throttle reset and it worked great. However, now it seems my auto trans is not sync’d with the engine. When I accelerate at higher speeds, the tach pegs and the trans engages about 6-8k. Thoughts??
The "wire throttle reset" is where one turns the key to "on', press the gas pedal for 5 seconds, turn the key off, wait 2 minutes, then start the car. All the articles I read had positive replies for renewed performance. Now, today, the transmission completely went haywire and at one point would not engage. I did the "reset" three times in order to have the transmission re-engage and was able to hobble home. I am thinking it requires a different chip reset or re-program, but not sure. Any suggestions before I take it to my mechanic?
Have you checked your transmission fluid? Sounds more like a failing transmission than anything else. Not engaging, slow to engage, high revs between gear changes....check your fluid level and condition.
I've heard a bunch of guys talk about how resetting the ECU on 3G auto's seems to breathe new life into the car. I don't understand that. Seems stupid that it would be designed like that but if that's they way it is then I guess you have to deal with it.

I hate to say it this way, but thank you Jackass!! I reported the same to my mechanic today and his response was that the transmission screen was probably blocked and was prohibiting flow of fluid, which in turn shut off the transmission. So, we are looking at a good old fashioned flush, clean, replace X4 for the transmission and fluid. Hopefully that will resolve it and I can get back to the roads. If it doesn't work, we are looking at a possible $3K+ rebuild of the transmission
. I'll keep you posted.

Read up on the other threads regarding auto maintenance. Pretty sure most comments frown upon a true flush type service and go more for a 3x3 fluid exchange and pressure switch replacements. I am far from an expert on the autos since I don't have one.

drain and refill > flush. Machine-assisted 'flushes' forcefully pushes fluid through the transmission which does more harm than good for our fragile Autos. also STICK TO ATF-DW1!! Don't use other transmission fluids . Replace the switches while you're there and it should alleviate some issues
Update: I had to have the car towed to my mechanic. Once there, the car barely made it inside the shop before a bad/wrong metal grinding sound came from inside the transmission. In military speak, the trans is Tango Uniform. Putting in a used one with a short warranty to hopefully extend my car life for another 100K miles.

You should do some research and look into the 06-07 V6 transmission from an Accord. It's much more reliable than another TL tranny. It's a direct bolt on
It's much more common on the 2nd gen TL: https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...n-swap-905115/
But it's been done on the 3G as well:
