I have a 2006 TL and the key part of the handle just came off. Is this covered under warranty?

If not, how much does one cost and is it easy to just put back on ?

I still have the peice, could I stick it back on ?

No big deal. There is a TSB and the dealer should cover it, no problem.

If you actually had to pay for it, the part is ~$11.

Yes, the outer peice just clicks/snaps on.

This part falls off and there's a TSB for it? Wow!

It should just pop back on. If not, or if it doesn't stay, the dealer will replace it. I actually replaced mine years ago with a blank that would normally go on the rear to eliminate the key hole...looks much better.

 

ast11 - you have 2 options

option 1 - use the link below and order part #32 and voila you have the shaved key mod

option 2 - put the piece back on that popped off (it should pop right back on) if it does not pop back on just order a new piece, maybe one of the tabs is broken.

Related (sorta). My driver side handle (the leather one inside above your head to the left) has a bolt/screw Cover missing. The shifter lock key-hole Lid (next the the Park symbol) is also missing. Minor parts but how do I go about getting them aside from through the dealer.

 

^ I would check your local junk yards just search "auto salvage yard" in your yellow pages

next time you are at the dealer just ask nicley if they have these extra parts laying around...you never know
