Direction of slotted and drilled rotors

Hi,

I am going to be installing some new rotors this week. The rotors are both slotted and drilled. I just wanted to know in which direction should the rotors be facing?

Thanks

I don't know why but Rotoras are different than everyone else.

Always give priority to the internal vanes if directional. They pull from the center to the outside.

Usually the outside slots rotate in such a way that the slot would fling debris away from the rotor toward the outside. Rotoras go with the external slots where they would channel stuff inward toward the hub. I've had people tell me I have the rotors on the wrong side but they're on right. I honestly don't think it matters much on the outside but it still looks weird.

Aren't the rotors marked "L" & "R"?

all directional rotors will have marking on the center hub ,,something like L or R to indicate which side of the car--from driver viewpoint, L= driver
or an arrow which points to the front of the car ------>

dont forget the synthetic caliper grease for pad backs and end tabs (if applicable)

RB seems opposite to others for the side vanes direction
but its inner curved vanes serve to extract heat from the center hub- where its hottest

purpose of the side vanes is to allow an escape path for expanding pad gasses under hard use

In some cases in can be enough pressure (heated air expands you know) to push the pads OFF the caliper!! while still maintaining your foot hard on the pedal--pretty scary feeling

So the vanes simply allow an expansion area and escape route
notice how some makers go to the edge, and others are mid-set on the face

They serve the extra function of micro-scraping the pads on application so they are always clean and at full contact ability to rotor

01tl4tl,

The box which the rotors came in do have a making on the the box left or right. I just did not know from which perspective the rotors where marked. Thank you for the clarification.
