dead TL
i got into my 05 TL with 35k miles today tried to start it but all of the electrical systems were dead. nothing was working so i thought it was the battery. tried jumping the car but that didnt work. so i check all the battery connections those were all fine too. mysteriously after 10 mins, everythign came back and it turned on. i took it to autozone to get the battery checked and the battery passed the test. the once trying to leave autozone, all the electrical systems werent working and again after 10-15 mins of sitting everything came back...um what in the world is going on? anyone have any idea? i have never had a issue like this with any car before...
hmm i just recently bought the car so i do not know about the fuse box recall. it was a 1 owner lease and im guessing the person before me did not get that done.
it is in warranty and i will take it to them tomorrow. hopefully they can diagnose the problem.

I got the same problem right now. I'll go to start my 04 tl and I'll have no power to any electrical systems then after a couple of minutes the power will be back and It'll start. Have you taken your car in yet? I gotta try and get mine in this week hopefully.

My 04 has starting experiencing the same problem. Total electrical failure as if the battery has been disconnected and after waiting 5 minutes all systems return to normal again as if the battery was disconnected. (Window limits, radio security code and trip odometers all reset.)
HAs anyone gotten a to a root cause?

Problem solved. Found a voltage difference between the battery terminal and the frame of 9 volts. Enough to cause all of the electrical system to "believe" that the battery had been disconnected so every system was completely dead.
The ground connection to the battery and frame looked solid and clean.
Not so. I cleaned the copper battery clamp reconnected and everything has be fine every since.
With digital systems there is no graceful degradation. It worked or it did not.
