Unhappy Dash Lights

Originally I had a steering column rattle and they believed the problem was the shaking of the buttons you press for Volume Up down located on the steering wheel so they replaced that assembly. This is where my problems began...

...When I received the car back, the Cruise lights on the right side of the steering wheel did not light. I took it back to the dealer, they fixed those lights, then the seat heater lights went off (not the amber ones signifying they are on) just the glow lights that look really cool when it's night you know which ones I mean.

So then I take the car back in and they fix those lights and now I'm paranoid about all the lights on my dash! I know for fact that the controls for turning up or down the climate control on the left side of my navi are out because the right side ones glow just fine. But what about the Brightness button for the dash lights is that supposed to glow - if so mine does not? What about the cluster of lights to the lower left where the Power MIrror light is located - are those supposed to glow? Only the button that says Mirror glows on mine. Also the VSA light does not glow but looks like it should.

Can someone help me out here? I have a Helms manual but it doesn't specify as far as I can tell! Thanks much!

Sounds like to get one to work they disconnect another, of course they dont do that. Next time make sure you get a nice loaner and dont giv em the keys back until you see all the lights in working condition.

Hey that's a thought. Can someone who owns a TL take a quick look at their dash and tell me if:

1. The VSA button is supposed to glow.
2. The cluster of controls around the Mirror button are supposed to glow (only my Mirror button glows)
3. The button that adjusts the intensity of the blue lighting if that's supposed to glow or not (the one I keep on MAX)

All my other interior audio, climate control, and various other lights glow and I need to provide specifics to the dealer so that they are sure to get all the lights next time.

1. The VSA button is supposed to glow. Yes, it is lit up.
2. The cluster of controls around the Mirror button are supposed to glow (only my Mirror button glows) The buttons above the mirror button don't glow, but the mirror button glows..
3. The button that adjusts the intensity of the blue lighting if that's supposed to glow or not (the one I keep on MAX) Yes, both the MAX and the one below it with the + and - on it glow.

Thanks Ron. That's what I needed. Saves me a trip to the dealer to take a test drive when the sun goes down.

Yes, David McDavid. My service advisor is very thorough which I like, but the techs there don't QA their work or I wouldn't have to constantly bring my car up there for follow up repairs.

I brought it in for a plethora of problems including my alignment being off pulled to the right and chewed through a tire and my dash lights not being fixed for the second time. Most of the problems they fixed, but the dash lights still being out in 3 different places and the car still pulling to the right just as it did before I brought it in is inexcusable.

I just hope I don't get a Toyota Echo for 3 days like a previous time. I'll take my rattle trap back anyday over a Toyota Echo - please hurry and fix my TL!!!
