CV Joint Replacement Cost/ Where to buy?

I have tried searching for this particular question for a little over an hour and while I have read a lot of information on it, previous posts have failed to answer my question.

Long story short I am experiencing what seems to be a bad inner CV joint. No click when turning the wheels in a parking lot, but I am getting pretty bad wheel vibrations on acceleration. Just had my tires replaces and hunter road force balanced along with an alignment so I know the problem is not there.

I do know my toe is .5 degrees out of spec on my front passenger side since I am lowered, but I find it odd my driver side is in spec. Either way, I am not sure if that contributes to anything or if that will give me vibrations.

I assume I would need to replace the entire halfshaft/cv axle at this point. And I figure I should just replace both fronts, since I have no way to tell which side it is coming from.

My questions are, where can I purchase replacement axles? And how much is it going to cost for install. I have no tools since I am not home for the summer (from NJ but in Chicago), and have found a very reputable mechanic who works on imports, so I am assuming he will charge less than the stealership.

Any help as always is greatly appreciated.

the famous vibration it going to make u go insane! if your an anal person.

get axles from advanced auto parts, use p20 coupon code for 20% off..

i have done it all and its barely noticeable after all the work i did.

1. axles
2. new shock + springs
3. ball joints, bushings
4. new Rims & tires

which side is it?....either way, install is no more than a hour...i changed my driver side axle in about 40 minutes...all you really need to do is remove the nut from the spindle, diconnect the knuckle from the lower control arm and also disconnect the outer tie rod from the knuckle...once that is out the way, the axle comes rite out...sometimes you gotta use a pry bar to seperate the axle from the tranny
