For those that have a 2007 non type S, may be it could happen on type S.

I noticed just under the acura sign on the plastic of the steering, a kind of crak. It's not really a crack , it's like a line coming out a bit of the plastic. It's horizontal from side to side at the level a bit under the acura sign.

It remenbers me that the first TL have this issue.

Do you have the same thing ?

. May be not if you didn't use the horn a bit of agressivity

 

My 04 had the same problem. Dealer told me not to hit the horn so hard. But I told them their statement is dump. That time, I have to hit it hard or else I will get hit by a truck. They replaced the whole bag for me with a new cover.

 

Are you serious the air bag need to be changed ?

I didn't use the horn with agressivity. I think we just have the habit ti push in the middle but we just need to push on the side. But as yousais in an emergency we don't have time to think of that.

 

Yes, they did. The cover and the bag are both in one unit...what a waste! But they saw the crack along the bottom of the ACURA LOGO and it was long too.

 

That is the way all airbags are made, they are all one unit. The plastic on top of the bag needs to be soft enough to tear open as the bag inflates. If it were 2 peices then you would get smacked in the face with the cover as the bag inflated.
