Coolant Problem

About 6 days ago I got home from a roughly 20 mile drive and I started to smell coolant when I parked and began to walk inside my place. I lifted up the hood and realized that the small hose that goes from the radiator to the coolant reservoir had popped off the nozzle that is connected to the reservoir. Naturally, there was coolant EVERYWHERE on the plastic parts, all over the fan, on the block, etc. I cleaned all the plastic parts with a Simple Green solution but didn't get down deep into the block, hoses under the fenders, fan, etc. I'm still smelling coolant to this day. My Temp. Gauge just sits at halfway like normal, no smoke from the tailpipes that I know of so is this just a case of the coolant that got all over everything burning while the engine is hot?? I was going to try to hose everything down b/c I know you can just hose the engine compartment down but you have to be careful of certain parts of the compartment.

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or recommends hosing it off to get all the coolant off all the engine pieces. If I did hose it down, what stuff would I need to cover up? Thanks for the help

As long as you're just running water over it without a lot of pressure you don't need to cover anything up. It's the high pressure stuff that gets past weatherpack connectors and gets trapped in there that causes issues.

Thanks. I'll just run water over it and see if I can't get it to come off in most places, though I might need some pressure on the bare metal spots.
