Concerned about 2007 TL brakes

Hey guys, I'm an owner of a 2007 TL automatic with approximately 29k miles on it. I have a problem with the brakes. I have owned several Acuras/Hondas in the past, and my experience with the brake feel has always been firm. The problem I have with the TL's brakes is that it tends to feel "mushy" at times. And when I am at a stoplight and I have my foot on the brake pedal, I can feel it gradually going lower. But the one incident that got me really concerned was when I was going downhill in my neighborhood at about 10 mph and when applied the brakes to slow down for the upcoming turn the ABS kicked in and the pedal felt really soft. So I took it to the local Acura dealership after telling them exactly what was going on. The technician took it for a drive to try duplicate the problem, but came back saying everything was fine. He ran a couple diagnostic tests on it and said everything showed up normal. Is this normal? Thanks for reading and any input would be greatly appreciated.

Check your brake fluid level.

Or, maybe you need to bleed the lines?

Sounds like a bad VSA modulator control unit or air in the lines. I'd try bleeding the lines. You're due for a brake fluid flush, so you might consider just doing that and see if it takes care of the problem.

When and what type of maintenance has been performed on your brake system?

Isnt Honda recalling a bunch of cars for air getting into the VSA system?

Yeah, Honda is for ABS modulators. Acura has a TSB for this for 04-06 TLs (some TSXs and RLs), but the TSB doesn't cover 07 or newer TLs.....

not that this was the same as your issue, but how are your tires, do you still have the oem michilens??

as my tires got to about the 30k mark, i would notice that in the rain and sometimes on dry roads, that if i hit the brakes just a bit more then a normal stop, that the abs and vsa was kicking in at what i would call just too early....

new tires = new grip/traction, and i havent noticed this anymore....

i have been telling anyone who will listen that the michilen mxm4's are just a flat out shitty, dangerous tire...this is my second car with them and i will never take dilivery of a new car with them again...

This is what I was thinking and I scheduled another appointment with my Acura dealership for them to specifically look at the VSA unit and the master cylinder. There has not been any kind of maintenance done on the brakes. Thanks for the input.

I just replaced all four tires about two weeks ago with the OEM Bridgestone Turanzas. I ruled out any grip or traction issues due to the fact that the problem occurs when I am going only 10-15 mph on slight declines. This is not normal and it worries me because I have my children in the back at times. The brake feel is far too inconsistent. One moment it may be solid and firm, then the ABS abrubtly kicks in on the slightest touch.
