Climate control buttons - no power
Climate control buttons - no power
I was installing the WCU conversion harness wire to allow the CanBus functionality in the dash behind the clock, and when I put it all back together the climate control didn’t work. No power going to it. While in the process of working on it it worked.
I then removed the clock assembly/navi unit/tape deck and put lithium grease on all the connections. Before and during reinstallation I kept checking and it all worked. After complete reinstallation I start the car and no power again.
Any idea what could be going on? It seems to be a loose wire perhaps?

Yes it was the second time, but the climate control power went out the first time with the battery disconnected. I checked the interior and exterior fuse box legends and could now find a “Climate control” or “heater” option, not anything that resembled it.
There indeed is a lose wire that is powering the climate control. If I "bap" either side of the button columns, it works. If it Bap it again, it turns off. Going home today it would turn on an off on medium sharp bump. More sensetive on teh right column of buttons it seems.
I thought it was because I was installing the canbus wire for the ECU conversion that made it sensetive. This area is on tol of the navi behind the clock. but bapping that area produced no results.
