cruise control mechanism

so today i was driving on the highway at 72 mph with cruise on when all of a sudden it just turned off by itself. at first i thought i might have accidentally hit the off button but then it did it again about 5 minutes later. I had a police issued flashlight plugged into the 12v outlet so i took that out thinking maybe the batter was all "hey man, wtf? i can give out all that juice so imma cut the cruise off bitch". anybody know what might be goin on? and BTW i did not notice any sharp drops or raises in the RPMs

well i dont think thats possible, a fuse would have blown if the light was taking all the power.

check to see of the connection harness to the cruise control box is plugged in all the way, its on the passenger side right above the side motor mount. should be an orange plug. also check to see if you somehow hit the button on dash or if the buttons contacts are worn. could be a loose wire under the dash too

yea, the cruise control cable issue is something to be concerned about. since it could get the throttle sticky, i had a high idle (4k rpm+) from the cruise control cable having too much tension. not good lol.

the actual place where the cables attach to TB--the outer piece of that can break off and cable gets jammed

When I activate my Cruise control, my engine bogs down and it starts to slow down immediately. something to do with cables ?
