Clicking Noice under Drive side dash

Had a odd sound for a couple months now, usually shows up for the first 10 mins after the car is started, almost sounds clicking noise. I noticed in the past week, if I turn temp to 84 degrees for a second and put it back to 74 it goes away completly.

Before I start removing panel pieces, does anyone have an idea what part is failing. Heating/Cooling is fine, just has this noise issue.

Shaun

No clue. So you think its HVAC related? Maybe temp or mode doors?

No idea really, hoping someone else has run across this before I waste $$ at the dealership or start to remove panels. Fan is blowing fine and AC is cold or hot depending on the setting. Just annoying clicking noise...

I've got the same intermittent issue, mine seems to be coming from behind the glove compartment. A/C, heater works fine

There are a number of relays down there. Likely a relay, but don't know if there is one specifically related to the HVAC system.

It is the motor for the heater flap door. Crawl under the dash and turn the het up and down, you will see the motor clicking.

Think you are right. Service guy heard the noice, tech was unable to replicate it. Dealer ballparked the repair around 300+, but since tech could not replicate it I did not do the repair. It comes and goes, have not notice it affecting the cooling at all, so I will just watch it.

YES, i have this exact same problem. it only happens when car is warm. i am taking my car in for the dealership to look at it. but they are usually bad with this kind of noises so not sure if they will find the source ? This noise is extremely annonying to me, so much so that if they can't fix this, i may have to buy another car.
Also one more thing i noticed is that with AC going, its worse at times, then i turn the AC off, noise is less albeit still there. Not sure if its related to the fan or plastic metal parts in the fan area ??
