I don't like to put much trust in the stealer ship, so what do you guys think I should do to proceed? I wanna get on top of this dice I hate having something wrong with my tl,

Autozone, etc will scan the code for free. Or purchase a simple scan tool from amazon for ~$25 or so.

Without the code, we don't know whats wrong.

So i reset the engine light and it came back a day after,
I'm not sure where the 02 sensor is located and if i need to change it,
If its just emission control i wouldn't change it, but if it can affect the engine, its different,

What year is your car?

Check out TSB 08-043: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-technical-service-bulletins-tsbs-3g-garage-j-016-a-613659/

Your car might need a software update.

Funny how people don't trust the dealership yet will risk running around with a code if its just to do with emissions.

Also a search comes up with a lot .

http://acura-tsx.com/forums/tags.php?tag=p0134 also includes the TL.

The ECU adjusts fuel trim according to the O2 sensor readings so you should probably replace both upstream sensors to be safe (the upstream are the ones the ECU uses, downstream is just to measure cat efficiency). They are only about $70 each I think and if you dont fix it your car will get worse and fuel economy will decline.

The wording in the TSB is something like "the ECM/PCM software does not correctly recognize wear of the sensors and incorrectly interprets the signals as a lean condition"

Basically, it's perceiving something that isn't there and reporting a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that it shouldn't. Not sure it applies to 2006 models though, but I would start there. The labor charge is like 0.2 hours so it's not expensive at all.

How many miles on your car? The next troubleshooting step is to perform a valve adjustment. If it's over 105k and you had your service without the valve adjustment, that might be the logical next step.

Edit: TSB applies only to Type-S models. I would still start there, I confirmed the 0.2 hour labor charge. The probable cause is "The PCM misinterprets inputs as a lean condition."

It might be the sensors too, but I always hesitate to suggest slinging parts until the problem is diagnosed properly.

the car only has 110km, how would i go to update the ECM/PCM software?
I called acura today and they quoted me 399$ for parts and labour, and a diagnosis would be 89$, stealership or just one of the many perks of living in cananda
