Check engine light flashing under heavy acceleration

Once in a while when i floor my TL towards higher RPS of second or third gear the check engine light will pop up and flash and either go away after a few seconds or will stay on for a day or two then go away and not come back up for a while. I plan on bringing it in but every time im about to it goes away. Any ideas? The car accelerates just fine and there aren't any weird noises or anything
