Check Engine Light...Battery Issues
Hi,
My Acura TL 2004 is having some issues. Below are the details:
1. The check engine light is on for about 2 months now. Although there does not seem to be anything wrong with the Car as it drives just fine.
2. When the car is parked for sometime overnight or even for some hours (sometimes), the Battery on the car dies, no lights or anything, when I scratch the Battery terminal with the Car key there is a small spark in that area and the battery seems to be up and running and no problems after that.
Could someone please suggest what could be wrong in the whole situation and what can be the best course of action. I do not want to pay a lot without a reason and no matter where I take the car, the car guys are going to fix a lot of things - in short make me pay more.
Thanks in Advance...
PS: Could someone suggest a good shop for this issue.

The TL is known to have a poor battery. Have it check at our local auto parts store and replace if necessary. While your at it, have them see if your car has thrown any codes that would indicate why the check engine light is on.

Hi
I got the Battery checked and there is no problem with the Battery or the alternator. Today again the car did the same thing of not starting while it had been parked only for about 2 hours. Opened the hood and just touched the key to the -ve terminal of the battery and the car could start and no problems after that.
So, i am wondering if the battery is ok and the wires are not loose what could be causing this situation. The sequence of the events is as below:
1. I can open the car with the Remote.
2. There are lights on the speedometer and dashboard.
3. As soon as the key is turned to start the car all the electric systems seem to get off.
4. At this time just a simple touch on the -ve terminal of the battery sets everything right again.
So is it possible that the connection between the ignition and the Battery is faulty.
Thanks...
